Review: Pride + Prejudice + Zombies (2016 movie)

Oh. Hi.

A lot of you guys may have seen the posters of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies around, or even watched the trailer of the 2016 movie. This movie is a complete treat if, like me, you love Pride and Prejudice.

Pride + Prejudice + Zombies (2016)

When I told my friends and family that I was going to watch this movie, responses I got were always along the lines of "really?", "why?", "it looks like a joke", "is it a comedy?", "it doesn't look good" and "are you really going to waste your money on this movie?" To all these questions, I'm answering: yes, really, because I love the original novel by Jane Austen and also love the 2005 adaptation movie with Keira Knightley, it looks like a fun movie, it doesn't matter if this movie doesn't win an Oscar come on, it could be good and I'm really going to spend my hard-earned on this movie on the sole reason of its title. I ended up going alone to the cinema on a weekday early afternoon.

Besides, with Lily James (Cinderella)las Elizabeth Bennet, it can't be that bad, can it?

Pride + Prejudice + Zombies (2016)

It was great. Unexpectedly great.

I admit it. I wasn't expecting much either, which I believe is the reason why I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I felt like a little girl through the entire movie because I was so excited, anticipating the scenes, the characters, the story, and seeing the differences and parallels between the two worlds, the one we know and the one on the verge of a zombie apocalypse. A lot of funny moments, some that don't make sense (of course, but who cares) and cool fight scenes (girl power, hey). It was also not scary.

It's a very enjoyable movie and I'm glad I watched it! I definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the novel and who is looking for something fun and light in this cold and gloomy season.

Fun fact: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie is actually adapted from the New York Times bestseller parody novel of the same name, written by Seth Grahame-Smith and published in 2009. Seth also credited Jane Austen as co-author!

Quantico: Raina Amin and Simon Asher (episode 6 thoughts)

You know you love a tv series when you write a blog post about it after 11 months of inactivity (sorry about that btw).

Cred: Tumblr

Raina Amin (Yasmine Al Masri) and Simon Asher (Tate Ellington) are both fictional characters of the ABC tv show Quantico. The lead actress is the beautiful Priyanka Chopra (Miss World 2000 and popular Bollywood actress) , and the whole cast is diverse, which makes it very cool. I fell in love with the show since day 1.

Quantico Trailer

SPOILERS EPISODE 6 - DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED

So I am in no way trying to analyze anything. I'm not an expert. I'm just a fan expressing my deepest (deep, indeed) thoughts about tonight's episode. I was so happy when Simon and Raina kissed. But then was it really Raina or was it Nimah trying to help Raina who was becoming unsure about the whole Simon thing because of Miranda? Nimah was also the one who asked Simon to talk after the assignement! And now poor Simon is locked in the closet and the ship is sinking...

Do you enjoy playing with us fans' heart? It's like sail and sink, all in 40 minutes.

I really like the twins' and I sure hope they're innocent. You just never know with the show, you never know. Right now, I'm thinking it could be Miranda or her son. Pfff... would it be too obvious? Yes. Since the begining of the series, I've been wondering where the twins were in the present. We shall have the answers next week.

Also, I felt bad for Caleb tonight. He looked really hurt when he talked to Shelby about her affair :(

What do you think about all that?

New Year, New Me

I was at work yesterday and I saw that my director had shaved his beard. I. Was. Shocked. I've known him for over a year and he's always had a prominent beard, a little bit hipter-ish for a (about) 40 year-old grown man, but it looked nice on him. My point is, he looked 10 years younger, dynamic as always and ready for the new year to come."New Year, New Me", right?

That made me think of those people always criticizing New Year's resolutions. You know what I'm talking about. For me, a new year can be a motivation to do better and to discover more about yourself and the people around you. Even though most people don't follow through with their resolutions, and that's what's been most criticized, not everyone can decide to start something "like that", in "this" moment. Thus, a New Year is amazing because it provides great motivation for people.

As for me, I'm beginning an internship in January, I have a new haircut (chopped off 32 cm of hair for Pantene Beautiful Lengths) and I'm ready to start anew and just learn about things. Life is mysterious and wonderful.

I hope that everyone reading this will enjoy every moment, work hard for what you want in life, be thankful for what and who you have. And if you still don't know what you want, don't worry, you'll find it eventually.

Be nice to your friends and family and be good and right and amazing. Be a better you.

I wish you a Happy New Year!

Very excited for WGM (because of Kim So Eun and Song Jae Rim)

Oh! Bonjour. Hi.

I had to make a post about it.

People who read my blog may already know that I'm a drama lover. Last week, I've discovered that Kim So Eun (actress: Boy Over Flowers and Liar Game) and Song Jae Rim (actor: The Moon That Embraces the Sun and Surplus Princess) would be paired for the show We Got Married, a variety "reality" show where they would have to act as a couple. I love these actors and I've watched some of their works, so them being together in that show makes me so excited !

I stopped watching WGM after Kang Sora (actress: Doctor Stranger) and Leeteuk (singer: Super Junior) quit, but this new addition to the show is getting my attention, and I'm definitely going to be watching the first episode this monday (hope it will be subbed by then), and surely the other ones (at least their segment) :)
